Why is #Hydroxychloroquine still a thing for #COVID19? If it were any other drug, the drip-drip-drip off negative studies, first observational and now more and more randomized controlled trials, would have sunk it long ago. Truly, HCQ pushers resemble a cult.

Because they really, honestly, cannot fathom the mere idea that THEY might be just ANYTHING but absolutely, flawlessly right with every single thing they say. So they're clinging on to their disproven "miracle cure" and lashing out against every criticism.

As of today, the fairytale of "you have to use it early for HCQ to work" has been conclusively disproven. Also, this petition does not qualify as scientific evidence. It's quite the opposite.pic.twitter.com/C3MsDB9TFh

I'd prefer evidence over eminence, but your choice. Also, most COVID-19 experts stick to the evidence as well and have completely disregarded HCQ.

Other clinicians on the front line (as bad as that metaphor may be) also thoroughly assessed HCQ and found it to be no better than placebo. I don't intend to discuss this any futher until HCQ advertisers come up with high-quality evidence that shows it to be superior to placebo.
