Just one? I've read a few of the major surgery texts, and I read the current edition of Cameron three years ago when I was reviewing to recertify for my boards.https://twitter.com/JuddHollander/status/1290455062234497025 …

Isn’t it a job requirement for people in your profession, even those not in your specialty?

Not strictly medical textbooks, however you are required to "update" your knowledge, mostly through scientific journals.

Sometimes I just have these moments when I'm like "maybe i forgot how to liver...?" and I read a few chapters to make my brain happy. Then later, I wonder if I forgot how to [whatever]... so over the years, I'm always re-reading, a few chapters at a time.

Isn’t it the reality that most of the content in a textbook is out of date almost as soon as it’s published? My degree programs always used textbooks as a mechanism to understand the history of the field and focused our main learning towards current research.
