Of course, even given the primitive state of knowledge about disease in the 1700s, George Washington was very much a fan of inoculation against smallpox, as were most of the Founding Fathers. So even on that score Massie is clueless.

Some of the first laws passed were for quarantines and if you didn't obey you were jailed. First mass vaccination done in about 1837 against smallpox - so I think they knew
