"The Letter" was shaped/spearheaded from conversations by four privileged white men. Apparently they felt entitled to really weigh in on racism, diversity & inclusion. That says it all.https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/07/arts/harpers-letter.html?smid=tw-share …

Lol it was spearheaded by
@thomaschattwill in conjunction with others. Consider debating the merit of the letter.1 reply 0 retweets 8 likes -
Personally, I agree with Richard Kim, who's quoted, “Okay, I did not sign THE LETTER when I was asked 9 days ago because I could see in 90 seconds that it was fatuous, self-important drivel that would only troll the people it allegedly was trying to reach—and I said as much.”

Replying to @gorskon @BotExemplary and
"Fatuous, self-important drivel" is an excellent description of "The Letter."

Sure, I don't really care whether you like it or not. I'm pointing out that the idea that it was spearheaded by four white dudes is silly and not the point

That's nice. I disagree. That it was spearheaded by four privileged white dudes is totally peak reactionary liberalism.https://newrepublic.com/article/158346/willful-blindness-reactionary-liberalism …
