An excellent analysis. Thank you. The public is now seeing how messy, and often wrong, science can be in the short term. This is bad if it reduces public trust in science. But I prefer to think it a good thing for folks to see that important science is self-correcting over time.

Since I wrote that yesterday, I'm also coming more and more to the conclusion that the argument over whether
#COVID19 spreads by aerosols or large droplets is almost a distinction without a difference. The interventions are largely the same, either way. - Show replies

I'm wondering, if aerosol transmission is non-negligible, wouldn't you expect more lower respiratory tract and lung infections due to inhalation of your own aerosols when you have contracted covid-19 in the higher respiratory tract?

Thanks for the excellent analysis. So what of cloth masks are they any help either in reducing or eliminating spread and protecting one against inhaling aerosols I'm not talking about bandanas but higher quality masks with three layers and inserts.

really good paper. & about time someone started deconstructing this topic. also interested in data from eg: passenger cruise liners, and (US) Navy vessels - news has it 26 so far experienced outbreaks. perhaps, biohazard 3/4 settings + semiconductor ind. have interesting studies?
