Gee. It’s not as though molecular biologists including myself) haven’t been thinking about and working on using these sorts of approaches for literally several decades. It turns out that the “software” part (picking the nucleotide sequences) is the *easy* part.

He’s essentially saying, “once you figure out the hardware, the rest is just a software problem” I feel hardware is always harder to create than software, because software’s entire purpose is to abstract away the complexities of the hardware.
