Interesting episode of Rawhide on @MeTV right now. It’s an episode from 1960 that’s about a barber/dentist who refuses to allow vaccinations and quarantines for smallpox. Yep, there were antivaxxers in the 1800s, and stories written about them 60 years ago.

The episode is S2E14, “Incident at Red River Station” and originally aired on 1/15/1960.

It’s a very provaccine episode. I missed the first half of it. I might have to find the whole episode.

One thing that @MeTV has taught me is that many of the shows from the late 1950s and 1960s were quite well-written. Some hold up surprisingly well. Of course, this could be selection bias, as the crap from that era doesn’t end up on MeTV and other similar stations now.
