You know, I'm a sucker for old Westerns, and @MeTV delivers. I love “Gunsmoke," and right now I’m watching “Have Gun, Will Travel," which was a great show from the late 1950s/early 1960s.

HGWT was my favorite as a kid and hasn't aged a bit. Richard Boone gave Paladin a Shakespearean quality and the theme song was terrific. Ida Lupino directed some of the best episodes, giving them a film noir cast she picked up from some of her movie work.

And Paladin always tipped “Boy” well!

Yeah, I know. That was racist as hell. If you ignore the "Hey Boy" part, though, the show was amazingly good, even by today's standards.

The name was racist but the character was always portrayed as intelligent and treated with respect.

That is true, but it's hard from a 2020 perspective to forgive the racism in the name.
