I've been railing against the "Both Sides" fallacy for nearly two decades, starting when I first noticed it with respect to the antivaccine movement and creationists (a.k.a., evolution deniers).https://twitter.com/AmyGDalaMD/status/1275120006834028544 …

Usually I ask people if they also want to hear "both sides" of the "Holocaust debate", and then suddenly, they're offended that I compare their pet anti-science hobbyhorse with Holocaust denial.

I used that example too. They usually whine about being compared to Holocaust deniers so that they ignore the larger point being made. That's why I like to use Moon landing hoaxers as my go-to example: Do you want to hear "both sides" of the debate?

Yeah, for a non-offending one I usually use flat earth. Moon landing hoaxers are very rare over here. And there's actually a flat earther who organized an antivax conference (which was cancelled due to COVID-19, LOL).

That's another good example to use.
