Usually I ask people if they also want to hear "both sides" of the "Holocaust debate", and then suddenly, they're offended that I compare their pet anti-science hobbyhorse with Holocaust denial.

I used that example too. They usually whine about being compared to Holocaust deniers so that they ignore the larger point being made. That's why I like to use Moon landing hoaxers as my go-to example: Do you want to hear "both sides" of the debate?
