I still can't for the life of me explain what the azithromycin thing was all about. The HCQ thing I can kind of explain but.... yeah it didn't work out it was time to move on long past when we actually did.

That study suggests hcq is of no help to "hospitalised" patients. If hcq was to be effective at slowing viral replication how does it make sense to administer it after hospitalization when viral loads are maxed out or close to? zinc once again missing ... Sisyphus with this stuff
-
Maxed out viral load doesn’t imply that all cells are saturated. There will always be continuing viral replication due to cell turnover. If the drug isn’t effective at high viral load, it isn’t effective at all.

UMN study suggests HCQ may have non trivial prophylactic effect as a ZN ionophore. Why celebrate failure anyway, its childish and people will die. Trumps an idiot, yeah we know.
-
It's not celebrating the drug's failure, it's relief after the frustration of watching EBM fail to curb dangerous public hype. EBM is literally designed to avoid this, and have us the signals, yet everyone ignored it and lost their minds. This isn't 'hoorah!', it's 'finally!'.
