As a layperson, I take issue with the way the alleged results were presented. “Cut risk of death by 1/3” sounds a lot different to me than what it says later, which is that 28% of vented patients still died. The tone at the beginning ridiculously oversells the results, IMO.

We are talking about saving quite a few lives lives here, I don’t think that « overselling » is appropriate.

Instead of treading lightly and awaiting true studies, they run with the story simply to be the first to have spoken of it.

I think it’s more about implementing the treatment as quickly as possible to save some of those currently fighting for their lives...

What would make one type of steroid that much more effective again ARDS induced by Covid-19 versus other steroids? Wasn’t it standard care to use some sort of steroid in the above mentioned patients?
