It’s mainly just leaf blowers around us. One of our nearby neighbors views it as an affront if there’sa single lead on her lawn and has the loud high-powered leaf blower to attack any lead that has the temerity to land on her lawn.

One of the coolest things about where I live is my next-door neighbor is an ethnically German Czech immigrant who loves to chill on his patio listening to polka. Sound of summer to me now.

Replying to @JamesWardenMN @IDoubtIt
When we first moved to Chicago, we loved in a neighborhood with a lot of Mexicans. Our next door neighbors were in a mariachi band and would sometimes rehearse in their garage. I hated it first but over time came to like it.

I will admit, though, that the year was 1996, which meant this band had “The Macarena” in its set list because the song was very popular that summer. That part, I never really warmed up to.
