My university email address and @ScienceBasedMed email address are public, which is probably why they were targeted. I'm surprised they didn't target my @oracknows email address too.

That was a much more effective prank in 1997, the last time I tried it.

IKR? My email clients' spam filters picked up on it within a couple of dozen of them and started shunting them all to the spam folder.

Be careful and watch your bank accounts. This happened to me and it was an attempt to hide an order confirmation email using my info. This is a common tactic of hackers to spam you with signups to bury other emails.

Will do, but I have notifications set up on all my bank accounts and credit cards. If anything is charged to them or any withdrawal greater than a certain sum made, I get push notifications right away. I'm paranoid that way.
