He is not use to work on large sample, more like 26 cases in his first study. As such he is not expecting the law of large numbers at work.

I looked at his paper when it first came to light. I'm not an MD, but have extensive medical experience: CSFA cardiothoracic. years of CCU work in trauma, med/surg, and even I knew it was total horse crap.

When they talk of a "study" that concludes XY or Z and is only a retrospective look back at cases. Yes it is research misconduct. Clinical trials with control groups equally dividing individuals with co-morbidities is research. The Lancet is laughable in the research community.
