Also, again, the primary reason we wear masks is to prevent our spreading respiratory droplets, to protect others. I’d also counter that, if this study were the final word (it’s not), then it works be evidence that everyone should wear paper MEDICAL masks when out and about.

Finally, without a no mask control (which arguably would have been unethical), you can’t conclude that cloth masks are ineffective, only that they’re *less* effective than paper medical-grade masks, which we knew already anyway.
