That’s true for me also...provided the person already agreed with the scientific premise. I have not found a way - at least in the current era - to actually change a mind by relying on the science. Perhaps I’m just too cynical, but I do not see anyone else doing that either

And note, I’m referring to the general population, not specifically doctors, the vast majority of which are obviously guided by science.

I find docs are usually excellent clinicians but not so great in critical appraisal of the medical literature. Much of my teaching revolves around addressing this situation & a goal of my knowledge translation project the SGEM.http://www.TheSGEM.com

Hey #BatBro, Canada's Chief Medical Officer of Health just recommended wearing a non-medical mask in public in situations in which physical distancing is not possible.

Sounds like #BatDoc and the CMO agree. So they are not suggesting it be mandated (law) and universal (no exceptions)? I look forward to finding out more. Thanks for the heads up. Virtual fist bump.pic.twitter.com/2TWCmevzZ6

Important is what they ARE suggesting. Wear them if you can't distance.

It would be soooo helpful if each provincial government, or the big one, distributed at least one non-medical mask to every last citizen.

Evidence that supports my skepticism that the public will be able to properly wear a mask. Only ~13% passed visual mask fit test. This could negate any theoretical benefits.https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2766070?utm_source=silverchair&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=article_alert-jamanetworkopen&utm_content=wklyforyou&utm_term=052020 …
