EBM had no chance against the
#COVID19 pandemic, especially when combined with so many forces intentionally promoting disinformation. -
I think the biggest challenge is that we always want to feel we are doing *something.* Giving patients oxygen, DVT prevention, and hoping for the best was hard.

A pure example of when MDs messed up leads you to say that they should only be the ones who know about new drugs? DTC ads empower patients. If the MD can't have a discussion w/ patients should have another job.

That’s where the distinction needs to be made between EBM and science based medicine. Medicine that is science based allows for areas where evidence is thin or unavailable; we go back to our scientific foundations to assess the reasonableness of a claim.
