This is not new. It has actually been a long time coming. I've been writing about how antivaxxers have coopted far right rhetoric and have been becoming more extreme. Unfortunately #COVID19 has accelerated the process. 1/https://twitter.com/beallwether/status/1259905828099731458 …

It's rather quaint to think the Far Right Anti-Vax alignment is "new" or the result of this pandemic. It's no surprise they're aligning with the open-up protestors. In Texas, it's a natural fit. Does no one remember
@RepStickland and his idiotic#vaccinesAreSorcery claim?1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

Oh, it goes back farther than that. There've been a lot of right wing antivaxxers for decades. Anyone remember Rep. Dan Burton? He used to abuse his committee to drag the directors of the CDC and FDA before them to "investigate" vaccine "injury."

Oh yeah. I've just been working in it since the 2015
#TxLege session, and it's gotten worse each session. But I know the West Coast extreme liberal version of the AV movement exists.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Just reminding people of the utterly ridiculous statement of a state rep claiming science was sorcery. But because we'll be laughing at that for years, you'll be remembered for something.
