WTF, @nytimes? What is it with this puff piece about Didier Raoult, who's arguably done more damage with his crappy, sloppy science to the pursuit of an effective #COVID19 treatment than any living human being? https://respectfulinsolence.com/2020/04/14/didier-raoult-bad-science-bully/ …https://twitter.com/scottsayare/status/1260240020033736704 …

A few weeks ago, I went to Marseille for @NYTmag to try to make heads or tails of hydroxychloroquine, and of the eminent French scientist behind its rise to fame. Then I came back, and wrote this. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/12/magazine/didier-raoult-hydroxychloroquine.html …

Raoult's history of sexual assault and culture of fear and bullying are glossed over in a single paragraph. https://forbetterscience.com/2020/03/26/chloroquine-genius-didier-raoult-to-save-the-world-from-covid-19/ …

Sexual harassment. I meant sexual harassment, not assault. Sorry about that. It's still bad.

I have the same stories (people in tears after) from witnesses/collegues, from the time I was in Marseille. It's not even an exaggeration, it's worse, with public humiliations in big meetings

Does he actually force them, or does he foster a culture in which everyone knows what he wants to find and that he will humiliate them if they don't show him the data he wants? In the end, it's probably a distinction without a difference, I guess.
