The hydroxychloroquine story seems to fit many of the features of Langmuir's "pathological science": https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pathological_science …pic.twitter.com/fDl7uBiHIG

Hydroxychloroquine hit my radar about a month ago, with that "malarial countries don't get COVID" story. I called it out as BS then, and the "science" hasn't got any better since - if anything, it's got worse.

The first study that started all this nonsense didn’t even show benefit. It showed a lab effect - while excluding patients that went to the ICU or died. The second study from France failed to even confirm the lab effect while showing no benefit in preventing severe disease!

This has all the machinations of every
#pseudoscience scam I've come across. Only difference is biggest pusher here happens to be@POTUS, resulting in a more bizarre charade than normal.

Curious as to why it seems to be the most popular treatment regimen globally if it does more harm than good?
