Can you not get this? If you are a healthy, not overweight person under 50 with no pre-existing health conditions you are more likely to die in a road accident on the way to work than from #Covid_19

Many road accidents are harmless fender benders. So?

I get the same ignorant argument with regards to death rates. I keep telling them that the exact death rate does not matter since there is virtually no preexisting immunity, so many people will get sick at the same time and overwhelm the health care system and point to Italy.

Magical thinking is going to kill so many people who do not understand virus, contagiousness, mutations, the curve, asymptomatic transmission. “Freedom” is not being immobilized by drugs on a vent. It really is not. I remain free by #StayHomeMN

I’m blocked by her (Yeah!) But I bet the shut down has ALSO cut road accidents and deaths.

Yes. ER cases drop when people all stay at home. There are other stats about lower emissions (less energy consumption) reducing deaths as well. Turns out, churning the wheel of economy does induce quite a lot deaths.https://abcnews4.com/news/local/sharp-decline-in-er-visits-at-lowcountry-hospitals …

Also what percentage of the population is under 50, not overweight and with no pre-existing conditions?

I mean in the US a third of the population is over 50, 25% of Americans under 65 have a preexisitinf condition and almost 40% of American adults are overweight.

On average in Toronto Ontario Canada the main Hwy 401 has over 200 car accidents reported at EACH collusion centre across the GTA. ALL those car crashes that aren’t happening right now is putting significantly less strain on the trauma centres & hospitals #StayHomeSaveLives

Per day/ per collusion centre on avg that’s over 800 car accidents a day just in Toronto area. That’s a huge reduction of healthcare demand which is a good thing right now. I’m sure every major city is experiencing same relief- less ems at crash sites being exposed to covid
