In other words, it deserves as much attention as Raoults studies got.

There is no compelling evidence that hcq is effective in covid. We went through this with hcq and flu. Uncontrolled studies do not demonstrate efficacy.

I know I've chosen this weird side in which the way one demonstrates efficacy for a medication is for a randomized controlled trial 🙄 silly me

It could be or it could not. Asserting it is in the middle between "good" and "not" implies there will be efficacy.

I'd like to be wrong, but personally, perusing the mounting evidence thus far, I'm increasingly coming to the conclusion that #Hydroxychloroquine and the #HydroxychloroquineAndAzithromycin combo most likely do not work against #COVID19.

Some evidence they actually make it worse. But on the plus side, some people made money out of the whole myth.

Oh, I won't be as prudent as you and I don't feel I'm at a huge risk of being wrong when I conclude that it just doesn't work. Or if it does work, then the benefit is way too small for it to have any substantial use.

The first is that lymphopenia is twice as common in the HCQ groups (25% in the HCQ, 31% in the HCQ+AZ group versus 14% in the no HCQ group, p =.02) and there is an absolute correlation between lymphopenia (<0.5G/L) and fatality rate, which is well known (Tan, 2020). Be happy then
