The witchhunter @MicrobiomDigest is not attentive to details when she judges that a study is useful to her paranoiac fights! Control group was treated with azithromycin. Nearly dying patients with lymphopenia were treated with hydroxychloroquine. Fraudulent study. Fake news.https://twitter.com/MicrobiomDigest/status/1252650436688965632 …

Wow. Preprint on patient group of 368 hospitalized veterans with COVID-19. Hydroxychloroquine treatment: *higher* death rates than treatment without HC. "Rates of death in the HC, HC+AZ, and no HC groups were 27.8%, 22.1%, 11.4%, respectively." https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.16.20065920v1 … pic.twitter.com/EkANISjvjx

Indeed. Raoult doesn't even TRY to have a control group.

Yes, but apparently it's easier to look at other studie's biases than it is to make good clinical trials.

It's better than no control groupe at all. This study present biases, but that this criticism comes from the antimethology guy is ironic.

Since he is convinced his treatment works, he considers it unethical not to treat patients with it. This is perfectly fine. Now, if other physicians want to do a proper study with a placebo control group, they should definitely do it. Right now we're waiting on one.

And no, just because that new paper seems to confirm your bias, that doesn't make it a good paper. It's barely interpretable.

It would be unethical he says, to deny people treatment he knows works. That’s why he doesn’t have it

Yes, but giving a treatment with side effects, without knowing if is effective, or even if it makes the desease worse, that's what's really unethical.
