Even with the insane amount of resources being committed? Money is truly no object for this one
-
It’s not about money. It simply takes time for R&D, testing, and ultimately, massive manufacturing and distribution - if a good vaccine is developed. Also, it’s not a given an effective vaccine will be created, no matter how much money is thrown at it. Scary times.

Do you have any suggestions for what people should do while we wait for the vaccine to be made? I'm over 60 and I'm afraid of getting the virus and dying of it. I know that at some point I'll have to go back to work (as a teacher) and I really would prefer not to risk my life.

I’m afraid that those of us over 60 will continue to be at high risk for years. My husband and I are weighing whether it’s safer to retire before we intended, or if we keep working & risk exposure in hopes of having a bigger nest egg later. It feels like a bad gamble either way.

human challenge vaccines. are ethical in these circumstances (and before hate, realize lipsitch from harvard is advocating - at least considering this). 100k's to millions of lifes potentially saved...crazy that not a real option. agree or disagree?
