Why does he have them in the first place?

Maybe he bought them. Is there any law saying he couldn't buy them. I just don't get all the bashing of a guy who's giving them away to help people. Would you rather he sell them to the highest bidder?

He bought it recently from China. Companies have global networks, differently from countries. It's easier to for them to do the logistics and there is far less bureaucracy as well. He is buying then in China and donating than free be grateful

BiPap machines, you mean. Good for patients that don't need to be intubated (intubation has its own risks) who can protect their airways.

Tesla actually sent out ResMed, Philips & Medtronic units. Latter is fully intratracheal. My personal opinion is that some ICUs are jumping the gun on intubation & setting PEEP & O2 too high. High pressure, pure oxygen increases risk of lung damage.pic.twitter.com/2IUnS5DPOg

@elonmusk this could be highly valuable. Out of curiosity, what PEEP are you seeing that seems high? More than 5 cmH2O? Oxygen %? I hope some hospitals are logging this data. - We will implement logging data from now on our ventilator to get more insights on this. Thanks!

Positive pressure ventilation by definition brings pressure above the normal range. If you’re looking to keep a “natural lung pressure”, this is your only option.pic.twitter.com/xNIXg1hwkH

Yep. Positive pressure ventilation by definition can't be "natural lung pressure.”😂
