The President-Elect of @AAPSonline is denying that her organization is antivaccine. I'm laughed out loud as I read this. Let's take a stroll down memory lane. 1/https://twitter.com/kksheld/status/1250096864927666176 …

In February,
@AAPSonline sued@AdamSchiff for its "right" to promote antivaccine misinformation.5/https://respectfulinsolence.com/2020/02/07/aaps-sues/ …Show this thread -
And in 2018, JPANDS published Brian Hooker's incompetent "reanalysis" that spawned
#CDCwhistleblower conspiracy theory and@vaxxedthemovie, after the article had been retracted. 6/https://respectfulinsolence.com/2018/12/12/brian-hookers-antivaccine-pseudoscience-has-risen-from-the-dead-to-threaten-children-again/ …Show this thread -
In December 2016, JPANDS published yet another article by an antivaxxer chock full of antivaccine misinformation. 7/https://respectfulinsolence.com/2016/12/22/the-crank-medical-organization-to-which-hhs-nominee-dr-tom-price-belongs-lays-down-a-heaping-helping-of-antivaccine-pseudoscience/ …

Of course, I've documented the long history of AAPS promoting antivaccine misinformation, including the worst antivaccine lie of all, that shaken baby syndrome is a "misdiagnosis" for vaccine injury. 7/https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/the-antivaccine-lie-that-just-wont-die-shaken-baby-syndrome-is-really-due-to-vaccine-injury/ …

There's even a sympathetic portrait by Dr. Jane Orient of baby killer Alan Yurko, who was the first to try to use the “shaken baby syndrome as a misdiagnosis for vaccine injury" defense still in JPANDS. 8/ https://www.jpands.org/vol10no2/orient.pdf …

If
@AAPSonline is truly, as Dr. Held claims, "not antivaccine," then why hasn't it removed the blatantly antivaccine content from the JPANDS website? It's not “pro-informed consent." It's blatantly antivaccine. I can provide many examples. 9/https://respectfulinsolence.com/2016/11/30/the-new-secretary-of-health-and-human-services-is-a-member-of-a-fringe-medical-organization-heres-what-that-means/ …Show this thread -
Finally, “pro-informed consent" is anything but if the information used for consent is antivaccine misinformation and disinformation blaming vaccines for autism, etc. I refer to it as "misinformed refusal." 10/

Similarly, “medical freedom" is a dogwhistle for antivaccine and support for quackery. 11/

In any event, seeing
@AAPSonline deny being antivaccine just makes me laugh. Derisively. 12/12Show this thread
