Agree, this is wrong & not research. Remember though:1) Many Rx’s are used off label. 2) Seniors don’t give up their right to make decisions and have it delegated to family. (PoA excepted) 3) If death is alternative, latitude is often given.

If death is alternative, consent is still required unless in immediate emergency. And if that’s the case, you don’t get to call it a “study.”

Again I say, there isn't any indication he didn't have patient consent. Hence the reason the article is deceptive.

It's a nursing home. There are elderly patients with dementia. Informed consent for them can only come from whoever has been granted medical power of attorney for healthcare decisions.
