Nope. They only need to resonate emotionally. As long as they're consistent with the speaker's feelings—"I hate liberals," "journalism is the enemy," "immigrants are subhuman"—they might notice the switch from one narrative to another, but I don't think they'll care.

And to be clear, WE ARE ALL LIKE THIS. It's a human problem, not *precisely* a right-wing problem. Some of use just work harder at resisting that urge, largely because of socialization: what group we're trying to retain membership in.
