I lived in Chicago in 1970-71. I wasn't old enough to go into the Quiet Knight, but the doorman would let me stand at the entryway to hear Prine's contemporaries. Later, when I was in college in Urbana, John Prine would play in little coffeehouses there.

My band plays a couple of John Prine songs. We tried to sing "Paradise" over Zoom meeting together tonight but the lag made it impossible. We did, however, raise a glass.
