This is, of course, BS whataboutism. I’m merely going after the biggest target first.

@DanLairdMD Well there is the fact that Remdesivir has a bit more cred due to previous controlled studies in primates at the very least. It’s a little more concerning that we’re hoarding a drug only studied in vitro & uncontrolled w/ poor pt selection so it’s kind of a big deal.1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

EZ 3-Step Plan for folks who believe using malarial drugs experimentally for coronavirus is stupid and dangerous: 1. If you get corona refuse the medicine. 2. If your family gets corona refuse the medicine. 3. Recognize patients have a legal right to choose their own treatment.

4. Consent to be enrolled on a randomized clinical trial of the drug. #4 is the correct answer, by the way.

And, no, legally, patients don't need to be enrolled in a randomized clinical trial to use a meds off-label. At least 20 % of medications are prescribed off-label. Some off-label uses of HCQ are the standard of care- pediatric interstitial lung disease, pyphoria cutanea tarda.

Strawman. I said nothing about “legally.” I meant medically. You really aren’t very good at this, are you?

LOL, legally or medically. Physicians prescribe medications off-label all the time, including HCQ and they have the legal authority to do so. Physicians have a fiduciary duty to do always do what's in the best interests of their patients.

Now you appear to be just playing semantics games, which tells me you’re not work engaging any more. My mistake for bothering in the first place.
