Back to Florida: 20 million people, 27,000 empty hospital beds - and a total of 85 new #COVID hospitalizations today (down for the fourth day in a row) 800 new positive tests, the lowest in a week. Hey @gorskon - I thought evidence mattered to you. Was I wrong? pic.twitter.com/woYwPJMMMZ

What underpins your conviction that he is a fool? Just curious because projections are just that and so far they appear too high. But the unemployment figures - which have health implications - are not projections. Sincere question, not snark.

He posted those numbers today as though they were evidence that rings aren’t that bad in Florida and people are overreacting. That makes him a fool. Your not section that makes you a fool as well.🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

Those numbers show rather tame growth...... nothing like exponential growth that would have one concerned

The pandemic curve always starts with slow growth then accelerates rapidly.

This is a rather unlettered response to a sincere question. The IMHE-UW projections have some circularity to their model that are problematic. I was hoping for a response of greater utility. Done on this thread. Thanks.

It is an overreaction.. if not for New York, the mortality rate would be very low for 300,000,000 people. The mortality rate in reality is probably less than one half of 1%, will end up slightly higher than seasonal flu.
