These people are so full of Dunning-Kruger that an economic advisor like Peter Navarro thinks he can science better than Anthony Fauci.

For the most part, I agree. The idea of using plaquenil & other immunosuppressants didn't originate with politicians. It came from desperate docs. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn't. They'll come a time when we figure out why. In the meantime, we don't stop trying.

We also have a large “case series” of hydroxychloroquine usage in Italy. They used it a lot. If there’s a signal, it doesn’t look large (quite sadly).

I marvel at the insight Sir Peter Medwar had on related matters. For example: https://www.quotetab.com/quote/by-peter-medawar/if-a-person-is-a-poorly-b-receives-treatment-intended-to-make-him-better-and …

Did Sir Peter Medwar ever argue we should deny potential treatments from dying patients because we've not done enough research to justify their use?

The best model I've seen is the Singapore study. Researchers actually compared the effects of a flu pandemic to a SARs-like pandemic. But I don't know what that has to do with denying potentially life saving treatment to seriously ill patients.

This is one of the problems right now. Many covid patients. Are receiving plaquenil and azithromycin but it’s not doing anything at all for the most severe.
