On Friday, Prof. Didier Raoult posted another study of azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine used against COVID-19. It is a single arm observational study of patients with mostly mild (or even asymptomatic) disease that is painfully uninformative.https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/hydroxychloroquine-and-azithromycin-versus-covid-19/ …

What about the Zelensky study? Larger and more recent. Quite impressive.

There seems to be a lot of controversy over this guy, not sure why. I havent seen anything published yet to make me want to lean either way. If it works it works. I'm all for what works, as long as Lupus patients aren't being denied meds too.

He bypassed peer review to publish his unauthorized human experimentation on Rudy Giuliani’s YouTube channel. None of those words are things I’d want anyone to say about my approach to practicing evidence based medicine

Yup. No IRB oversight. No clear protocol with well-defined inclusion/exclusion criteria.

And experimenting outside of IRB oversight, and medical ethics, opens a whole other can of worms. Not to mention that these 2 seem to care more about getting on TV than actual research methods

You do know there is an ongoing study in NYC? Will know results soon. 20% of all prescriptions are off label. Don’t need IRB for off label prescribing especially if FDA okays it.
