I watched the entirety of Six Feet Under with my mother and it was okay, just about the upper limit of what we can watch together with no embarrassment. But last year we tried to watch The Handmaiden (2016 film) together and wow, that was depths of discomfort I didn't know I had.

Hah! The episode of “a stallion comes to Rome” in the series Rome, with my 16 year old son. My comment afterwards was “that was awkward!” All he said was “yeah”-face beet red.

Watched SNL with my then wife and her mother with one of those penis sketches. Years earlier I watched SNL with my dad who had a pacemaker when they did the die-hard pacemaker battery skit. Do think this is funny, he asked. No, just awkward.

Watching Oscar winning The Last Emperor en famille proved awkward. Young nieces inquisitive re foot fetishism. SIL and I at a loss for words.

I saw HAIR in a theatre in London with my mother in 1972. Boy, was she surprised when they took their clothes off.

I caught one of these scenes one night, flipping through the channels. My first thought was "where do they get the energy?" Young people!

That's the time I uttered the immortal and utterly unforgettable phrase: "Sorry for all the gaysex, Dad". It was possibly my finest comedic moment. My timing was perfect, even if my choice of prestige television wasn't.
