I apologize in advance but that comment begs the question. Just how fucking stupid are you? Viruses don’t die. Because they’re not alive! If it’s not contained everywhere at once, it just keeps spreading forever! Gabeesh? You’re watching the wrong press conference every day.https://twitter.com/EdwardGardiner1/status/1241441173530697735 …

And then what? In a month we’ll be back at square one. Just got to let this thing run it’s course.

I agree mostly, but technically viruses are alive briefly on surfaces and very much alive and replicating on live hosts. The just aren't self sustaining.

Not exactly. The proper term with respect to a virus isn’t alive or dead, but rather infectious or not infectious. Viruses can be inactivated and rendered noninfectious by various means, chemical (e.g., alcohol) being the most common.

I will defer to you. I just remember Microbiology lab class and being test tube of unknown, and being warned there was live virus for us to identify. But that was more years ago than I'd like to admit.

True & 1. The virus that causes COVID-19 is stable for several hours to days in aerosols & on surfaces: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/new-coronavirus-stable-hours-surfaces … 2. It can take 2 weeks to become sick after contact & then another 2 weeks to recover: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/diagnosed-with-covid-19-what-to-expect … Hence the logic of a 1 month lockdown.

No offense, doc, but it’s easier just to say the virus is alive or dead! 😂
