What are the financial implications of said admissions for those with and without insurance? I don’t really know how it works with a ?pandemic in US.
-
Catastrophic. Even for those with good insurance, ICU stays can quickly total many thousands of dollars. Financial ruin is almost certain.

We also still have a very small set of data, much of it from China, so it’s much too early to say if it doesn’t effect certain demographics.
-
True. Of the 93K reported cases, 50K have recovered so far. 80K have been in China. However we were able to see accurate death rates for SARS and MERS pretty early on which were must higher. 83% are mild cases with 17% are severe.
