Imagine the chutzpah it takes to tell other people their interests and hobbies are flawed. Imagine the chutzpah it takes to tell other people they are spending their free time incorrectly. https://twitter.com/VPrasadMDMPH/status/1234671971507400704 …

And doing that while spending "so much time" debunking studies on coffee!pic.twitter.com/Zp4vO8KFWq

      Isn't alternative medicine and oxymoron?

From a scientific point of view, yes. From the point of view of public health, no. It is a huge, harmful business that thrives on the silence of doctors - especially those who believe that protecting patients is "beneath" them.

Oh yes I forgot the rubbish people believe in. Dreadful. Glad that in the UK the NHS is reducing if not stopping all homeopathy treatments.

Yes. It does real harm. But since it easy to debunk (from a purely scientific standpoint) some people think it is not worth discussing. Doing so doesn't advance their reputations and careers.https://academic.oup.com/jnci/article/110/1/121/4064136 …

Except a lot of it is not easy to debunk. It’s devilishly hard to explain why commonly cited studies for acupuncture, for instance, do not show what advocates think they show.

I guess it depends on the claim. Random claims that turmeric cures cancer require little effort. I’ve never dug into acupuncture studies, but yes, I’m sure those require skill to deconstruct.
