This is one way that antivaxxers deceive legislators. They falsely claim that a child like Keanu, who has a *legitimate* medical contraindication to live virus vaccines like MMR, would lose his medical exemption under proposed laws removing religious/personal belief exemptions 2/

As an aside I looked at the Facebook page of, Keanu's mother, Liz Rovegno. It's full of antivaccine misinformation of the most extreme and easily refutable sort. She's clearly hard core antivaccine. 3/3

Let me rephrase #2 in the thread. Antivaxxers with children like Keanu, for whom vaccination with live virus vaccines like MMR is contraindicated because he's severely immunocompromised, claim they won't qualify for medical exemptions under the proposed laws. Not true. 3a/3

In reality, children like Keanu have the clearest, most medically sound, most widely accepted, contraindication to vaccination with live virus vaccines. They're severely immunocompromised. Claiming that removing the religious exemption would kill Keanu is a red herring. 3b/3

Indeed, children like Keanu are EXACTLY the children who most depend on herd immunity. Surely the mother must realize that.

Perfect example of a kid who depends on herd immunity. She should be begging everyone else to get vaccinated.
