Scientist not physician here and I don't know if if helps or not but I have found stating aloud at the start of a consultation that I have no attachment to my preconceived notions of what might be happening genuinely leads me to be more open to re-evaluating my conclusions.

I don't know why but I typically struggle a lot with taking on board the opinions of others when I have my own ideas (the inherent arrogance/hubris of a former gifted kid I think) and that trick increases my willingness to consider that I could be wrong significantly.
