I tried it. There is no way I could eat 500 calories 2 days a week long term. If others can, awesome.https://twitter.com/CaulfieldTim/status/1229505647051296768 …

I've lost more than 20 pounds and huge strides controlling my blood sugar with portion control. IF might be better for some people, but it isn't for me.

Portion control, calorie counting, and exercise have allowed me to drop over 40 lbs. in a year and a half. Now that I’ve finally hit my target weight, things are getting...interesting...as I try to figure out how much I can eat without starting to gain the weight back.

Calorie counting and portion control (specifically, weighing food) has let me drop 10lbs since xmas despite somewhat less exercise due to a conga line of colds and flus.

Ha! That’s even more hard core than me! I don’t go so far as to weigh my food...

I am not good at eyeballing a serving and measuring dry goods by volume introduces entirely too much variability to the measurements (see also: this is why I became a chemist. I am that level of type a control freak).

I do sometimes use a measuring cup or teaspoon/tablespoon for volumes. I could weigh my food. We do have a food scale. (The last time I used it was to periodically weigh the puppies we were fostering to make sure they were gaining weight.)

A far more adorable use of a food scale, to be sure!
