Jim, you’re a friend, but this is bullshit. Donald Trump has brought us $1 trillion deficits again, he’s increased the debt way faster than Obama, and you haven’t said squat. When Obama was President, you and I used to scream about the debt. What happened to you Jim?https://twitter.com/Jim_Jordan/status/1226894253126713344 …

President Trump’s budget sets the right priorities: -Funds the wall -Supports our military -Cuts wasteful foreign aid -Enacts work requirements for welfare recipients Most importantly, it sets us on a path to a balanced budget.

Oh, please. @GOP only cares about deficits when the President is @TheDemocrats. (They use it as an excuse to thwart spending on progressive programs.) Whenever Republicans control the Presidency, the House, and the Senate, deficits skyrocket due to their passing massive tax cuts.

"Oh, please." Revenue YOY has increased after massive tax cuts. The next step needs to be a conservative House and a big reduction in the size of government. We are in full agreement.

That’s just not a true claim. Due to the massive tax cut, revenue has drastically decreased. Spending has increased dramatically, though. Too bad the Tea Party was only against ‘Kenyan socialist Obama’

Correct. The dogma of @GOP religion that massive tax cuts more than pay for themselves has never been true; it's never worked, going all the way back to Reagan, who had to raise taxes later in his term because deficits were ballooning.

Total federal revenues doubled from just over $517 billion in 1980 to more than $1 trillion in 1990. In constant inflation-adjusted dollars, this was a 28 percent increase in revenue... Deficits were/are a spending problem. You are misleading a lot of people.

Corp taxes went down but people did not see their individual costs go down. Then when it came time to pay the bill on the tax cuts to corps and increased mil spending, tax increases had to happen. We’ve been dealing w deficits ever since. Particularly thanks to Gingrich.
