One hell of a lot of good, decent human beings end up with cancer. That's a tragedy. But sometimes terrible people are eaten alive by it and die in misery and the world is a better place it. Fuck 'em. The people they victimized had families too. You die how you live.

Being a cancer surgeon and having seen so many people die of cancer over the years, I'm just not capable of being happy about even someone as vile as Rush Limbaugh being diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. I can understand the sentiment, but I also know what he's in for.

Limbaugh downplayed the risks of smoking on-air. Hard pass on the sympathy.

Exactly. He came right out and said that secondhand smoke doesn't cause cancer. How many of his gullible listeners took that to heart and now have cancer?

I don’t think “happy” is in play here.

You are the perfect person to ask. Some time ago Limbaugh claimed that smoking tobacco did not cause cancer. Does this knowledge make it even more disturbing to you that he now has stage IV LC? I know there's not much you can tell such a patient.

No one should suffer through cancer, no matter how terrible they are. He should suffer the consequences of his actions instead!

Some may say this is a consequence of him smoking all those years.

Death comes for all of us. Many are going to havec suffered because of the seeds of easy, guffawing hatred sown by that man. May his hatred be his only balm.

He has enough health insurance and money to make sure he’s comfortable - a benefit he’d happily deny to others. He’ll have excellent medical care and adequate pain relief. I wouldn’t wish this disease on anybody, but I’m not gonna shed a single solitary tear when he dies.

I hope he gets just as much compassion as he has given over the last 30 years.
