Infections help your immune system develop. That’s the point of them! Even with coronavirus recovery is currently 98%

Should we infer from your statement that if 100 people get coronavirus, you are OK w 2 of them dying? I’m not trying to be provocative, but that is more or less what you stated.

Viruses are a fact of life. No one is saying it’s okay for anyone to die, but the point is that most people contracting it recover. There is no magic bullet for any disease I’m afraid. Not vaccines, not medication... 1500 a year die from asthma, despite medication

Bacteria are a fact of life - most people who get bacterial infections will recover. Many will not. But per your logic it seems you'd land on the side of saying that we should not give antibiotics because infections are a fact of life. Why hate so much on preventive action?

Because she's arguing that because we can't be perfect we shouldn't try to be good. In particular it's called the Nirvana fallacy. Same logic would say since we can't save all drowning people we shouldn't have lifeguards.pic.twitter.com/PhHW0CFvDg

That’s a decent analogy. But we need effective lifeguards.

And what we have are vaccines that carry the risk of serious harm

Remember, Sally, most people don't live a privileged life like yours (meaning, access to care, & the arrogance & selfishness to claim vaccines are more dangerous than diseases). Go see reality. Talk to an ID doc about reality of infectious diseases.

The WHO is clear that clean water and good sanitation are more effective than vaccines. There’s nothing risky about either

No, @WHO is clear about nothing of the sort. Clean water and sanitation are great for preventing the spread of waterborne disease, but not so great at stopping the spread of pathogens spread by respiration. For that you need vaccines.

Omg, and shes a JOURNALIST? at least that's what her twitter bio says. Let's hope that she's just a wannabe blogger "speaking truth to power" BS.

A quick google tells us she wrote some celebrity pap for the Daily Mirror and the Sun, and she did some free work for HuffPo https://www.huffpost.com/entry/richard-horton-waffles-on_b_460550 … Though her most recent book is #3,123,089 on paid content in the Kindle Store. So she's not what one would call "successful".
