A fellow physician came up with this chart that compares training hours. NP hours can be hands off (just shadowing/following someone around)pic.twitter.com/IyNriI3xml

I had 8500 pract/training hrs as an RN before starting grad school. I also know I’m not a phys and wouldn’t represent myself as one. I don’t know any NPs who imply they are physicians. ILPs are desperately needed in rural areas, and if MD/DOs wont fill this need, someone has to.

You did approximately 40/week of clinical for 4 years before you finished your RN program😳 There are 2080/hrs in a 40/hrs week full time job Did you also take classes? I do not know if ANY program that make student RNs do that many clinical hours

Surely you can read better than that???? I admit I didn’t spell out the word practice but I worked as a nurse for years between undergrad and grad, and I didn’t imply I got all those hours only in school.

That’s what threw me ~8000 hrs pract/training “Practice and training” Yea, you did imply you got those hrs in school You never said working as an RN before MSN school

Yeah, you just read what you wanted to read. Practice and training are both done at work, and training occurs at school. I also was not in an MSN program. You assumed that, too.

Consider for a second, that I know better what I meant in my statement than you decided you knew after reading it.

Clarity in writing is not a skill you find necessary in whatever it is you do One should never write for only one’s own understanding, you write for OTHERS to understand Failure to do so, simply mean what you say is irrelevant Gotcha’

Interestingly enough, in the full two days since I tweeted that, you are the only person to respond with total misunderstanding.

That’s because the misunderstanding was willful.
