Sad but not entirely true. He was fired from his lucrative gig as medical director of the quack clinic Thoughtful House after he was struck off and his @TheLancet paper retracted 10 years ago. True, he did find other grift eventually, but times were bad for him for a while.

This is a well written piece and in my opinion, deserves wide circulation. What has however not been yet robustly examined is why @TheLancet published such a clearly rotten “study” in the first place. Should there not be some work done to address that question? @CoyneoftheRealm
Have heard editors were victims of their own snobbery. He went to posh school, son of doctors, attended top medical college and was practising at prestigious Royal Free Hospital in London. Don’t know if true but having worked in the British health system it sounds plausible.
