The website he works for as managing editor, #ScienceBasedMedicine.org appears to be nothing but a propaganda-rich entertainment site to me. No real journalism there. Or science for that matter. Take it with a grain of salt.

I've been told so many times that my pain is all in my head. This is just similar thinking. "I can't explain xyz therefore it's not real". The absolute pinnacle of medical arrogance.

I understand anecdotal evidence isn’t really evidence. But, I’ve seen some amazing results with acupuncture for intractable CINV. And even if it *is* just placebo, if it works, when zofran, compazine, zyprexa, Ativan, etc, doesn’t, is it still really a waste of $?

I've had people tell me the therapy for my depression is pseudoscience, too. I've also received better care from nurses than I ever have from a doctor.

To those replying in defense of placebo therapies/acupuncture, please consider the time and opportunity costs of pursuing those ‘treatment’ modalities, as well as the conditioning of patients to false narratives.
