Only two more nights with the puppies. It’ll be bittersweet taking them back to the shelter on Friday to be adopted. We’ll be sad, but happy to send them to forever homes.pic.twitter.com/N6ZLVGJRsi

We've done this twice before. The first time, my wife and I were destroyed. We cried all the way home from the shelter, and I kept talking about visiting the shelter to visit the puppies. The shelter's 40 miles away from where we live; so that wasn't very practical.
The second time wasn't quite as hard, but it was still hard. Those seven fluffballs had snuggled their way into our hearts. This time, though, we knew what to expect, although one of the puppies was so very scared that it made us cry a little.
In any case, this time, we know what to expect. We know what we'll feel. We know that the puppies will be scared and overwhelmed initially but that they're very adaptable and love people; so they'll adjust and be fine within a day or two.
We also anticipate that they probably won't be in the shelter long. They're so damned cute, and the REALLY love people. Two of them in particular are already lap dogs, even though I think they'll probably end up weighing 40-50 lbs when they grow up.
