Also little known is that Tull was one of the earliest big bands to bring theatricality to rock. Their tour for “Thick as a Brick” was truly bizarre, complete with characters from the album and comedy sketches between songs.

They know. They’ve just had a bias against prog from the beginning. Look how long it took for Yes to finally get in, for example.

ELP are still not in. Neither are King Crimson. I've never really considered Kansas to be a prog band (although that's how they tend to be labeled), but they're not in either. Yes, heavy anti-prog bias.
