No, it's a travesty that Tull isn't in the Hall. They were groundbreaking, popular, and definitely mainstream. In fact, I was shocked when I read David's post. I just assumed they were in (and had been for quite some time).

Also, they were largely influential in prog rock, particularly the more acoustic, English folk/pastoral vein of prog. Just because a band doesn’t feature a flute doesn’t mean it wasn’t influenced by Tull. There was more to Tull than Ian Anderson’s flute.

Also little known is that Tull was one of the earliest big bands to bring theatricality to rock. Their tour for “Thick as a Brick” was truly bizarre, complete with characters from the album and comedy sketches between songs.

Now put all that down on paper & send it to the RRHoF.

They know. They’ve just had a bias against prog from the beginning. Look how long it took for Yes to finally get in, for example.

ELP are still not in. Neither are King Crimson. I've never really considered Kansas to be a prog band (although that's how they tend to be labeled), but they're not in either. Yes, heavy anti-prog bias.

Indeed. It's a travesty that ELP, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, and (maybe less so) Kansas are not in

One of the best albums of all time, IMO.

Yup. It’s up there in my top ten, maybe top five, of all time. The Steve Wilson remix/remaster is revelatory.

Talk about under-rated!
@StevenWilsonHQ - his solo work, Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, et al, and his remix versions of albums. He's incredible.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
